PRESCOTT, Arizona (October 16, 2024)—Jim and Tammy Ryan have long dreamed about opening their own Spice & Tea Exchange® location. With a family cabin in Prescott since 1982, Jim has spent much of his life in Prescott and watched his dad rope in the Prescott Rodeo for many years. Thanks to the support of the community and fellow store owners, the Ryans are finally seeing their dreams come to fruition. The Spice & Tea Exchange® of Prescott, at 101 East Gurley Street, opened its doors on July 2 and will celebrate its Grand Opening on October 24th.

“We love this community and the people of Prescott,” says Tammy Ryan, franchise owner of The Spice and Tea Exchange® of Prescott. “Our favorite part of being in the store is meeting people. We love the Plaza and all the activities that happen here. There has been an outpouring of support from the locals, and we are so grateful to them. And we absolutely love this building and its history.”

The Spice & Tea Exchange® of Prescott is part of a unique downtown district steeped in Wild West history. Doc Holiday and Virgil Earp, brother of Wyatt, called Prescott home, frequenting saloons just across the street from where the store is now. The shop's building is on the National Register of Historic Places as the longest-running bank in Arizona, open from 1877 to 1998. It was the first bank in the Arizona Territory, reflecting the mining boom and gold rush of the 1800s. Designed in the classical style with rustic brick and tall columns, the building’s historic feel complements the old world feel of glass jars displaying The Spice & Tea Exchange®’s painstakingly sourced spices, herbs, aromatics, salts, sugars, honey, and more, making it feel like a Western apothecary. The in-house Spice Master hand-mixes custom spice blends, while the tea bar offers hot and cold brews of the shop’s many tea varieties, including Tammy’s favorite, Blueberry Black. Jim’s original favorite spice blend was the Kahuna Seasoning Salt, but he says the store is literally a foodie and griller paradise, and he is always finding a new favorite.

The Spice and Tea Exchange of Prescott® will celebrate its Grand Opening on Thursday, October 24th, from 3 to 6 p.m., with a Chamber ribbon cutting at 4 p.m. Customers can enjoy tea and food samples, a 10% discount on all consumables, and learn more about the bank's history. Photos to accompany the press release can be found here.

Located at 289 South State Route 89, PepperJacks is poised to become a local favorite with its unique blend of traditional American fast food offerings, family-friendly ambiance, and convenient design. The restaurant's efficient drive-thru and outdoor seating ensure a convenient dining experience for residents and visitors alike. This new eatery is an exciting development for Chino Valley and the surrounding area, which has seen an increasing demand for locally owned dining establishments that combine quality with convenience.

JEBCO Construction was selected to lead the construction and design efforts, bringing the owners’ vision of a community-centered restaurant to life. The construction project involved the creation of a modern, functional, and aesthetically appealing building that accommodates both quick-service operations and a welcoming environment for outdoor dining.

The team at JEBCO Construction worked closely with PepperJacks’ ownership throughout the entire process, ensuring that every detail met the owners’ high standards. "We loved every minute of working with JEBCO during this process.  They walked us through many of the unknowns we experienced as we have never built from the ground up before.  Jeb and his crew were onsite constantly looking over every detail making sure we didn't skip details.  We are a small operation in the grand scheme of buildings that JEBCO is known for and we felt like they poured so much attention into our beautiful building.  They communicated with us often and we never felt like we were left in the dark.  They understood our vision for the Chino Valley Community and helped us get there.  We got to know everyone in the office and onsite (including subcontractors) very well and consider them a part of the PepperJacks family.  We could not have done this without them. Thank You.” stated Lyndell, LuEllen and Laura Browder
