Prescott, AZ – February 23, 2026 – Prescott Frontier Days®, Inc.–World’s Oldest Rodeo® returns for a milestone 139th year. The 2026 rodeo promises to be an unforgettable Independence Week event, honoring America’s spirit with the theme: “Celebrating 250 Years of Freedom.” From Monday, June 29 through Sunday, July 5, 2026, the world will once again turn its eyes to Prescott, the birthplace of professional rodeo. Generations of cowboys and cowgirls have tested their grit in the arena, and this year’s event intertwines that tradition with the celebration of America’s 250th birthday.
Prescott Frontier Days® embodies the values that helped shape America. The excitement begins in Prescott with eight thrilling performances of the World’s Oldest Rodeo®, featuring top professional rodeo athletes competing in bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, bull riding, barrel racing, and more. This year’s entertainment lineup showcases world-renowned specialty act Rider and Bethany Kiesner, celebrated for their high-energy trick riding performances; the impressive Broken Spoke Clydesdales; nine-time PRCA Clown of the Year and barrelman Justin Rumford; accomplished bullfighters Beau Schueth and Quirt Hunt; and world-class announcers Randy Corley and James Horcasitas, bringing energy and expertise to every performance. Beyond the arena, the celebration expands into town with beloved community traditions: Dance the night away and celebrate Independence Week, Prescott-style. The Rodeo Dance begins at 8PM on July 2, 3, and 4, 2026 located at the Sprouts Parking lot / Depot Marketplace.
On Saturday, July 4, 2026, at 9:00 a.m., the Rodeo Parade, sponsored by Barrett Propane, will wind through historic downtown Prescott, Arizona, showcasing a vibrant display of floats, beautifully adorned horses, marching bands, and unmistakable community pride. This year, we are honored to welcome our Parade Grand Marshals, who proudly represent the 2026 theme, “Past, Present and Future.” Leading the celebration are ProRodeo Hall of Famer and legendary bullfighter Arleigh Bonnaha; Prescott Frontier Days®, Inc. two-time Saddle Bronc Champion and General Manager, Jim Dewey Brown; 2025 NHSRA Bareback Champion Braylon Johnson; and Prescott youth and local standout Bodee Oles. “Serving as General Manager of Prescott Frontier Days, I’m deeply honored to represent the ‘Past, Present and Future’ of rodeo,” said Jim Dewey Brown. “Our rich history is the foundation that built the World’s Oldest Rodeo®, our present is fueled by the dedication of our community and contestants, and our future is brighter than ever as we continue to preserve this great Western tradition for generations to come. I'm honored to be included as a Parade Grand Marshal.”
