  • Vermillion Homes: Building Northern Arizona’s Legacy of Quality and Integrity

Vermillion Homes Video by Donna Werking, Northern AZ Social, LLC Prescott, Arizona - Vermillion Homes, Northern Arizona’s premier custom home builder, is proud to continue setting the standard for excellence, transparency, and craftsmanship in residential construction. Founded and led by Tim Vermillion, a seasoned homebuilding professional with more than three decades of industry experience, the company is leaving a lasting imprint across Yavapai County with homes built to stand the test of time.   Tim and his wife relocated from North Phoenix to Prescott, Arizona, in July 2022, drawn by the area’s natural beauty and tight-knit community. “We instantly fell in love with the Prescott lifestyle,” Tim shared. “We enjoy the outdoors—camping, off-roading, and exploring Northern Arizona’s backcountry. It’s the perfect place for us to call home.”   Tim’s impressive homebuilding career began in the field as a framer in 1985 after ten years joined up with Pulte Homes and Del Webb, where he served from 1995 to 2009 as Director of Product Design. During that time, he helped lead some of the nation’s largest and most respected housing developments. This role gave him extensive experience in every facet of residential design and construction, from architecture and structural engineering to customer satisfaction and project management.   “In my years with Pulte and Del Webb, I learned how to balance design innovation with cost efficiency,” Tim said. “That experience became the foundation for Vermillion Homes — creating custom homes that are as functional as they are beautiful.” Since 2010, Tim has been an active Arizona homebuilder, completing a diverse portfolio of custom homes that showcase thoughtful design, meticulous craftsmanship, and an unwavering dedication to quality.   What truly sets Vermillion Homes apart is its commitment to value engineering and full transparency throughout every project. This approach ensures clients receive the highest quality construction while optimizing design and material costs to deliver the best overall value.   “At Vermillion Homes, we believe in complete transparency,” Tim emphasized. “Homebuilding should be an exciting, collaborative experience. Our clients know exactly where every dollar goes, and we work closely with them to find smart solutions that save money without sacrificing quality or design.”   The company’s team provides hands-on attention at every stage — from lot selection and design to material choice and final walk-through. “Our clients become part of the Vermillion family,” Tim said. “We take great pride in earning their trust and exceeding their expectations.” Now fully rooted in Prescott, Vermillion Homes continues to expand its footprint throughout Northern Arizona, building custom residences that reflect the character and beauty of the region. Each project represents not just a home, but a legacy of craftsmanship and care that will be enjoyed for generations. “We’re very excited to leave our legacy in Yavapai County for years to come,” Tim expressed. “Prescott has welcomed us with open arms, and it’s an honor to build homes that contribute to this incredible community.”   He added, “Our goal is simple — to create homes that blend timeless design, energy efficiency, and enduring value. When our homeowners walk through the door of their finished home, we want them to feel an overwhelming sense of pride and peace of mind.”   As Northern Arizona continues to grow, Vermillion Homes remains committed to supporting the region’s architectural heritage, environmental responsibility, and small-town values. “We’re not just building houses,” Tim said. “We’re building the future of this community — one home at a time.”   For more information about Vermillion Homes or to explore their custom homebuilding services, visit www.vermillionhomes.com

  • Meet Liz Tobin: The Heart Behind Catering by Liz

For more than 24 years, Elizabeth “Liz” Tobin, owner and operator of Catering by Liz, has been creating memorable dining experiences for events and private parties throughout Yavapai County. Known for her attention to detail, impeccable presentation, and passion for her craft, Liz has become one of Prescott’s most respected caterers — combining culinary expertise with genuine hospitality.   Liz’s journey to Prescott began in 1992 when she moved from New York to be closer to her parents, who had relocated to Arizona two decades earlier. “I instantly fell in love with Prescott while visiting them,” Liz recalls. “The small-town charm and community spirit captured my heart, and I knew this was where I wanted to be.”   Her love for cooking started early, inspired by her mother and grandmother, both excellent cooks. As a young mom in New York, Liz often found herself catering for neighbors and friends — a talent that would eventually evolve into her lifelong profession.   Though she once planned to attend culinary school, fate had other plans. Liz began working under Chef Patrick Day, who offered her a rare opportunity: “He told me that if I worked side by side with him, I’d learn everything I would in culinary school,” Liz said. That mentorship led her to become his sous chef — a role that deepened her knowledge and appreciation for fine cuisine.   Over the years, Liz has worked in some of Prescott’s most iconic establishments, including The Palace Restaurant when it first reopened as a restaurant in 1996, and later as a sous chef at Zuma’s, a sister establishment. She also managed the deli and kitchen at New Frontiers Natural Grocers for 12 years, where she gained valuable experience in special dietary needs — including gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, and ADA-friendly meal preparation.   While balancing her early catering business, Liz owned and operated a small café in Chino Valley called The Lunch Box, which became a local favorite for fresh, homemade meals. Her experience at New Frontiers further refined her passion for using healthier and organic ingredients — a cornerstone of her modern cooking style.   “What sets me apart is my attention to detail and presentation,” Liz explains. “Every event is unique, and I take pride in delivering exactly what my clients envision.” Her specialties include elegant cocktail parties featuring high-end hors d’oeuvres, though she also offers full-service catering for weddings, corporate events, and private celebrations of all sizes. Her culinary talents have even reached national audiences. Liz was selected to provide meals for a Food Network show, Restaurant: Impossible with celebrity chef Robert Irvine, while they filmed in Prescott. She has also catered for multiple production companies from Los Angeles working on location in Yavapai County.   Liz’s dedication to community service is as strong as her passion for cooking. She regularly supports Empty Bowls Prescott and donates meals to the Prescott Women’s Shelter, continuing her tradition of giving back through food. “Liz is an absolute joy to work with. Her professionalism, creativity, and food quality are unmatched. Every event she caters feels seamless and special because she genuinely cares about the experience from start to finish.” - Kate Allen, Pronghorn Ranch Events Manager Outside of the kitchen, Liz enjoys Prescott’s outdoor beauty — especially hiking — and treasures every opportunity to visit the beach, her favorite place to unwind. With four grown children, five grandchildren, five brothers, one sister, and a large extended family in both Arizona and New York, Liz’s life is filled with love and connection — values that shine through in every event she caters.   “It makes me happy to serve others with delicious food,” she says. “That’s what Catering by Liz is all about — where tasteful creations begin.”   Liz welcomes calls from event planners and day-of coordinators to ensure every detail is perfectly aligned before an event. She also maintains strong relationships with fellow local caterers whom she respects and is always willing to recommend when appropriate. Learn more about Catering by Liz at www.cateringbyliz.org .

  • Tri-State Metal Roofing Supply Expands into Prescott, Arizona with New Manufacturing Facility Built by JEBCO Construction

Tri-State Metal Roofing Supply, a trusted manufacturer of high-quality American-made metal roofing and siding, has announced its expansion into Prescott, Arizona, with the construction of a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility on Generation Lane. The project is being led by JEBCO Construction Companies, a respected Northern Arizona general contractor, marking the beginning of a strong partnership between two businesses committed to quality, integrity, and community. Founded in May 2016 in St. George, Utah, Tri-State Metal Roofing Supply was established by partners Kortney Leavitt, Jason Norton, and Kalan Lemon. Together, they bring more than five decades of combined expertise to the manufacturing industry, with Norton contributing over 30 years of specialized knowledge and Leavitt and Lemon each contributing a decade of experience.  Since its inception, Tri-State has quickly grown into a regional leader by focusing on customer satisfaction, unmatched turnaround speeds, and high-quality products manufactured in the United States. The company supplies a wide range of metal roofing and siding materials, trims, and accessories — including custom trims designed for unique projects. Its products serve everyone from lumber yards and contractors to homeowners and DIY builders. “Our mission is simple: keep roofs solid and communities strong,” said co-owner Jason Norton. “We believe in hard work, honesty, and real relationships. Whether it’s a ranch, a commercial building, or a family home, we want to help people protect what they’ve built with materials that last.” When deciding where to expand, the partners initially considered other markets but quickly fell in love with Prescott. “The people and the tight-knit community felt like home to us,” said co-owner Kortney Leavitt. “That sense of community is exactly what we want our brand to represent.” The company also sees Prescott as an ideal hub for sustainable building practices. Unlike shingles and tile, which frequently end up in landfills and release toxins into the ground, metal roofing is fully recyclable, energy-efficient, and designed to last. Tri-State’s expansion will not only provide cost-effective solutions to local contractors and homeowners but also support long-term sustainability in the region’s construction industry. For its new Prescott manufacturing facility, Tri-State partnered with JEBCO Construction Companies, led by owner Jeb Johnson. The JEBCO team was selected for its professionalism, expertise, and strong alignment with Tri-State’s values. “There were many capable commercial builders in the Prescott area, but with Jeb and his team, we felt an immediate friendship,” said co-owner Kalan Lemon. “They’ve been professional, reliable, and an absolute pleasure to work with throughout the process.” The project is particularly meaningful to both companies. The site was purchased from the family of a longtime Prescott resident who had planned to develop the property but passed away before its completion. Tri-State and JEBCO worked together to reimagine the space, incorporating innovative roofing profiles, custom trims, and a modern design aesthetic. Among the unique touches is Tri-State’s signature wood grain steel paneling, which replicates the rustic look of barn wood with remarkable authenticity.  “Tri-State’s ability to manufacture top-tier products with virtually no lead times, combined with JEBCO’s commitment to delivering on schedule, makes this project a showcase for quality and reliability,” Johnson said. “We’re honored to play a role in bringing Tri-State’s vision to life here in Prescott.” The new facility, scheduled to open in 2026, is expected to have a significant impact on the local economy by creating jobs, supporting contractors, and providing an easily accessible supply of durable roofing materials. Tri-State’s presence in Prescott will benefit a wide spectrum of customers — from contractors building large-scale projects to homeowners tackling smaller upgrades. “We’re in a growth stage,” said Norton. “As Prescott continues to grow, we want to grow right along with it. Our goal is to expand this facility over time, adding options and creating even more jobs for people in the community.” With its strong focus on sustainability, durability, and customer satisfaction, Tri-State Metal Roofing Supply is poised to become a valuable asset to Prescott and the greater Northern Arizona region. About JEBCO Construction Companies Based in Northern Arizona, JEBCO Construction Companies is a full-service general contractor specializing in commercial, residential, and custom projects. Known for integrity, professionalism, and hands-on leadership, JEBCO is dedicated to delivering projects that reflect the vision of its clients while upholding the highest standards of quality.

  • Discover, Sip, Repeat: Winebelly Vineyard Tours CELEBRATES ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY AND Brings Unforgettable Wine Experiences to Prescott, AZ

Winebelly Vineyard Tour with Arizona Daily Mix PRESCOTT, AZ — Winebelly Vineyard Tours is putting Prescott on the map for wine enthusiasts with its full-day wine tour experience. Founded by Rebekah McClure and her husband Ross in December of 2023, Winebelly takes guests on a journey through the breathtaking vineyards of Cornville and Cottonwood, offering a safe, fun, and immersive way to enjoy Arizona's blossoming wine country. Winebelly Vineyard Tours begins its journey from Prescott’s iconic Whiskey Row, where guests board a specially designed tour bus outfitted for comfort and safety. The tour stops at three distinct vineyards, where guests can savor a variety of wines, immerse themselves in the vineyard culture, and enjoy the scenic beauty of Northern Arizona—all without worrying about driving. “At Winebelly, we’re more than just a wine tour. We’re here to make memories, celebrate Northern Arizona’s incredible wine scene, and support our local community,” said Rebekah McClure, tour guide and co-owner. The McClures’ story began in Austin, Texas, where they sold their home and embarked on an RV adventure across the U.S. in 2020. After discovering Prescott’s charm and strong sense of community, they decided to plant roots in Chino Valley. What started as a dream of entrepreneurship has evolved into a thriving business that not only showcases Arizona’s vineyards but also strengthens connections between local businesses. “We fell in love with Prescott. It’s like living in a Hallmark movie—beautiful, active, and full of small business spirit. When we realized the need for a safe and guided way to enjoy the area’s incredible vineyards, Winebelly was born,” said Rebekah. Winebelly doesn’t just stop at offering wine tours; it actively supports local businesses. Guests begin their journey at Back Alley Wine Bar in Prescott and visit vineyards like Alcantara, DA Ranch, Javelina Leap, Oak Creek, and Page Springs. Plans are already in the works to expand tours to include breweries in Clarksville, Cottonwood, and Flagstaff. The McClures have built a network that benefits not just wine lovers but also the Quad Cities community. As Rebekah puts it, “Our little bus is more than transportation—it’s a way to bring people together and support the incredible local businesses in our area.” Winebelly Vineyard Tours has big plans. From creating more local jobs to expanding into brewery tours, Rebekah and Ross are dedicated to growing their business in a way that uplifts the entire community. “Our mantra is simple: Discover, Sip, Repeat. We want to help locals and visitors alike experience the beauty and flavors of Northern Arizona—safely and memorably,” said Rebekah. Winebelly Vineyard Tours departs from Whiskey Row in Prescott, AZ, and offers a full-day roundtrip wine experience.
