  • Raskin’s Jewelers Celebrates 80 Years of Legacy, Craftsmanship, and Community Commitment

Traditions Carry On with the Carlisto Family Raskin’s Jewelers proudly celebrates 80 years of excellence in fine jewelry, marking a milestone that honors generations of craftsmanship, entrepreneurial vision, and enduring community relationships. Established in 1935, the Raskin name continues to symbolize integrity, quality, and trusted service in Prescott and beyond.   Founded by Melvin Raskin during the Great Depression, the business began in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, where Melvin and his brother Harry built a jewelry enterprise grounded in resilience, innovation, and customer trust. Melvin’s pioneering approach to in-house financing and personalized service allowed customers access to fine jewelry during uncertain economic times, establishing a reputation that would carry forward for decades.   The business later expanded to Arizona, where Melvin’s son, Lynn Raskin, helped usher in the next era of growth. After earning his business degree from the University of Arizona and achieving his Graduate Gemologist certification from the Gemological Institute of America, Lynn opened the Prescott location in 1963. Under his leadership, Raskin’s Jewelers became a respected cornerstone of the Prescott community, known not only for fine jewelry but also for custom services, awards, and exceptional customer care.   The third generation, Greg Raskin, assumed ownership in 2003, continuing the family tradition during a time of significant economic change. Greg demonstrated resilience and dedication, guiding the business through industry challenges while maintaining its strong presence in downtown Prescott. His leadership ensured that the values established by his father and grandfather—integrity, quality, and community commitment—remained at the forefront of the business.   As Greg prepared for retirement, he sought to ensure the continuation of the Raskin legacy. That opportunity emerged through Jim Carlisto, an experienced jewelry industry professional, who, along with his son, acquired the business with a shared commitment to preserving its heritage. As part of the transition, the new ownership proudly retained the Raskin name, honoring its decades-long legacy and ensuring continuity for customers and the Prescott community.   “It was important to me that the Raskin name and tradition continue,” said Greg Raskin. “Knowing the business will carry forward under experienced and dedicated leadership gives me tremendous confidence and pride in what our family built.” In January 2023, Jim Carlisto and his son, James Carlisto, assumed ownership of Raskin’s Jewelers with a deep respect for the store’s remarkable history and a clear commitment to preserving its legacy. With Jim’s extensive background in the jewelry industry and a shared family vision, the Carlistos made the intentional decision to retain the Raskin name—honoring the generations who built the business while positioning it for continued success. Since taking ownership, they have remained steadfast in upholding the store’s longstanding standards of integrity, craftsmanship, and customer service, while also strengthening its presence in the Prescott community through charitable support, local partnerships, and civic involvement. “We recognized immediately that Raskin’s was more than a jewelry store—it’s part of Prescott’s story,” said Jim Carlisto. “It’s an honor to carry forward a name that represents trust, family, and 80 years of service. Our responsibility is to protect that legacy while continuing to serve this community with the same dedication the Raskin family demonstrated for generations.”   James Carlisto, representing the next generation of leadership, has embraced both the history and the future of the business, working alongside his father to ensure its continued growth and relevance. Together, they have invested in strengthening customer relationships, expanding services, and reinforcing the store’s role as a community cornerstone. Their vision extends far beyond the present, with a strong emphasis on generational continuity and stewardship. “This isn’t just about today—it’s about building something lasting for the future,” said James Carlisto. “We’re proud to carry the Raskin legacy forward, and our goal is to continue earning the trust of Prescott families for decades to come. One day, we hope to pass this business down to the next generation, just as it was passed to us, ensuring the tradition of excellence lives on.”   As Raskin’s Jewelers celebrates this historic 80-year milestone, the company looks forward to honoring its past while embracing a future defined by continued growth, innovation, and service to Prescott and Northern Arizona.     ###

  • JEBCO Construction Co Celebrates 25 Years of Building Northern Arizona’s Future

Founder Jeb Johnson reflects on humble beginnings, hard-earned respect, and a legacy built on trust and craftsmanship Founder Jeb Johnson (left) and the JEBCO Team. Serving Northern Arizona for 25 Years. JEBCO Construction Co , a trusted leader in commercial construction throughout Northern Arizona, proudly celebrates its 25th anniversary in 2026. Founded in 2001 by owner Jeb Johnson at just 25 years old, the company has grown from modest beginnings into one of the region’s most respected construction firms, known for its integrity, quality craftsmanship, and commitment to community.   Jeb Johnson’s path into construction didn’t begin in an office. A third-generation member of a Prescott ranching family, Jeb grew up understanding the value of hard work. As a young man, he worked long days building fences and gathering cattle for his father. He then went on to  oversee dirt work development in Phoenix for Sunstate Builders and later worked locally to expand his knowledge of construction trades.    An important influence during his early business years was his father-in-law, J.T. Purvis, who helped guide and cultivate Jeb’s understanding of long term thinking in business. “My father-in-law, JT Purvis, helped get JEBCO off the ground,” Johnson said. “He introduced me to Bob Bell, who had owned a commercial metal building company. Bob agreed to consult and oversee the startup of JEBCO, and JT loaned me start-up money and provided office space upstairs in his ERA Real Estate building on Gurley Street. My wife, Jamie at the time was operating a salon and art gallery helping to make ends meet.  We knew we wanted to build something of our own. The rest is history.” Like many young entrepreneurs, Johnson faced skepticism in the early years. “One of the biggest challenges was earning respect and trust at a young age,” he said. “I didn’t have a handbook, I learned the business as I went and adapted quickly to challenges.”   Those early lessons helped shape the company’s foundation and instilled a culture of resilience and continuous improvement. Over the past 25 years, Johnson has witnessed significant changes in the construction industry—from handshake agreements to today’s highly documented and technology-driven processes.   “Back then, things were simpler. Deals were often made on a handshake, timelines were less compressed, and documentation wasn’t as extensive,” Johnson said. “Today, technology allows us to monitor projects in real time, communicate instantly, and document every detail. Implementing advanced software and systems has transformed how we operate and allows us to deliver even greater accountability and efficiency to our clients.”   JEBCO has embraced innovation while preserving its core commitment to quality craftsmanship. By leveraging modern construction software, researching advanced materials, and carefully selecting skilled subcontractors, the company ensures each project meets the highest standards.   Johnson credits JEBCO’s success to strong relationships, community trust, and a dedicated team. “Trust, referrals, and relationships have been essential to our growth,” he said. “We wouldn’t be in business today without being trustworthy.”   One of JEBCO’s early milestone projects was the construction of the Unisource Energy Services building, a 30,000-square-foot facility completed approximately 20 years ago. That project marked a turning point and helped establish JEBCO as a capable commercial builder in Northern Arizona.   Johnson also takes pride in how far the company has come “Being doubted early on and now being respected as one of the best construction companies in Northern Arizona is incredibly meaningful,” he said.   In the company’s early years, Johnson was deeply involved in fieldwork, managing jobs directly, and working alongside crews. Today, his role has evolved into strategic leadership and business development. “When I started, I was in the trenches and running jobs at the same time,” Johnson said. “Now, I focus on leading the company and staying ahead of opportunities while continuing to represent JEBCO and serve our clients.”   He emphasized that JEBCO’s team has been instrumental in the company’s success. “We are grateful for the JEBCO team. Everyone plays a vital role, and they truly have the company’s best interests at heart. Our culture is built on mutual respect, accountability, and always striving to improve.”   Raised on a ranch, Johnson developed a strong work ethic early in life, even knowing he wanted a different career path. Those early experiences helped shape his commitment to integrity and hard work. “From the beginning, our values have been simple: go above and beyond, and always be trustworthy,” Johnson said. “Those values remain at the core of everything we do.”   JEBCO’s journey has included both challenges and triumphs, including surviving the economic hardships of the 2008 recession. "During that time Jamie and I decided a significant change needed to be made if we were going to stay above water during that time. So, I took a project management job in San Antonio TX for one of the largest multifamily companies in the state. I was in charge of the San Antonio projects for approximately 2 years.   “Looking back at all the highs and lows, I am proud of what we’ve accomplished,” Johnson said. “We came close to folding during the recession, but we rebuilt stronger. We’re proud to have helped build this community and create jobs. Giving back and contributing to the future of Northern Arizona has always been important to us.”   As JEBCO celebrates its silver anniversary, Johnson remains focused on the future and the company’s legacy. “I’m looking forward to another 25 years,” he said. “My hope is to eventually pass the business down to my children. I don’t think I’ll ever fully retire, but I would like to spend more time traveling with my wife while knowing the company continues to thrive.”  ###   About JEBCO Construction Co Founded in 2001 and headquartered in Prescott, Arizona, JEBCO Construction Co is a full-service commercial construction firm specializing in high-quality building solutions throughout Northern Arizona. • PV Bark Brings Premium, Enrichment-Based Dog Care to the Quad Cities with the Support of JEBCO Construction Company

Luxury boarding, structured daycare, and low-fragrance grooming set to open January CONSTRUCTION PROJECT BY JEBCO CONSTRUCTION CO. PHOTO BY DONNA WERKING, NORTHERN AZ SOCIAL, LLC Prescott Valley, AZ — January 8, 2026 - Mike Gust and Elaine O’Connor didn’t plan to start a premium dog care facility when they relocated from Houston, Texas, to the Prescott area in August 2020. What they did plan was a lifestyle change—trading humidity for mountain air, and big-city pace for a close-knit community they quickly came to love.    After first discovering Prescott through a January 2020 visit, Mike and Elaine spent the entire month of June living in an Airbnb near downtown. By the time they returned to Texas, they had already made an offer on a home. Two months later, they arrived in the Quad Cities with their dogs, Bran and Coco, officially calling Northern Arizona home.   That first Prescott summer brought an unexpected challenge. Upgrading their home to central air required a full week of electrical and HVAC work—leaving Mike and Elaine scrambling to find care for their dogs. Every local facility they contacted was booked solid, some for as long as twelve weeks.    “What followed was a frantic patchwork of favors from neighbors and friends,” said Elaine O’Connor. “It was also our first real introduction to the limited availability of quality pet care in the area.” A simple question from Mike’s mother changed everything: Why don’t you meet that need? That idea grew into PV Bark, a premium, enrichment-based dog boarding, daycare, and grooming facility designed to meet the growing needs of Quad Cities pet parents. Through a strategic partnership with JEBCO Construction Company, their vision has been brought to life. “I’ve had the pleasure of working with Elaine for a couple of years, and she is the kind of client every professional hopes for. She is deeply dedicated to her business, has a clear vision, and came exceptionally prepared throughout the entire process.” shares Jeb Johnson, JEBCO Construction owner.    PV Bark offers a thoughtfully designed experience centered on canine wellness and comfort, including: Luxury Boarding Suites — 41 private, tempered-glass-front suites assigned to each guest for the duration of their stay. Most suites measure a spacious 4’ x 8’, custom manufactured for PV Bark. VIP Suites (5’ x 10’) and a Presidential Suite (5’ x 16’) offer bedroom-style accommodations complete with TVs and webcam access. All suites feature elevated orthopedic Kuranda beds for maximum comfort. The facility is a total of 11,560   square feet indoors and also features a 5,900 square foot outdoor space for their guests.    Enrichment-Based Daycare — A structured rotation of high-energy small-group play, individual activities, low-energy socialization, mentally stimulating toys, and high-quality rest periods to engage dogs physically, mentally, and emotionally.   Low-Fragrance Grooming — A spa-like grooming environment designed to leave pets clean and refreshed without overwhelming their highly sensitive sense of smell.   Highly Trained Staff — A professional team committed to ongoing education and the highest standards of care and customer service.   “Our mission is to enrich the lives of dogs so that they may bring happiness to their humans,” said O’Connor. “This means that we work to ensure that dogs leave us physically, mentally, and emotionally better off than when they arrived.”   PV Bark addresses one of the most common challenges voiced by local pet owners: lack of availability when care is needed most. To meet that demand, PV Bark will introduce an exclusive Members Club, offering priority boarding, exclusive access, valuable perks, educational resources, and invitations to members-only events.   “The level of detail and care Elaine has put into gathering information for each product made our work together efficient and seamless—and I could only imagine that same dedication and attentiveness clearly extend to the way she cares for the dogs entrusted to her,” said Jeb Johnson.  PV Bark’s soft opening is officially underway as construction wraps up and team members complete training. The facility will be fully operational in late January, with a Grand Opening celebration is scheduled Wednesday, January 28th 2026 from 3 p.m. - 7 p.m.   “We moved here not knowing anyone,” said Elaine. “Prescott welcomed us, and PV Bark is our way of giving back—by providing the high quality of care that local pet parents and their dogs deserve.” Elaine and Mike are deeply committed to the local pet community. Elaine has volunteered as a dog walker with both United Animal Friends and the Yavapai Humane Society, and PV Bark has actively built relationships with area veterinarians. PV Bark is a proud member of the Prescott Valley Chamber of Commerce, the Prescott Chamber of Commerce, and the International Boarding & Pet Services Association (IBPSA).   PV Bark is located at 6689 E 1st St, Prescott Valley, AZ, 86314. • From Bootstraps to Boot Drop, Donna Werking shares how she created a New Year’s Eve community tradition

By Bonnie Stevens, Quad Cities Business News, December 2025 Photo by Blushing Cactus Photography, contracted by Northern AZ Social. Photo on Stage at the 2022 Boot Drop: (Left to Right) Ben Flowers and friend, (Middle) NYE Boot Drop Cofounder Donna Werking, Danita and Mike Napier When Donna Werking experienced the Weatherford Hotel’s Great Pinecone Drop in Flagstaff as a student at Northern Arizona University in the mid-2000s, she thought her hometown needed a New Year’s celebration of its own. That inspiration would later ignite one of Prescott’s most beloved NYE events, the Whiskey Row Boot Drop, now heading into its 15th year with two drops on December 31st on downtown Whiskey Row.  After NAU, Donna joined the Arizona Sundogs Hockey Club organization in Prescott Valley, managing corporate sponsorships, events and arena promotions designed to elevate the fan experience. “Those years unknowingly became my entrepreneurial incubator,” she said. “I had the opportunity to lead multiple aspects of the hockey club and generate promotional ideas to bring people together, not just for hockey, but to create an atmosphere the community would proudly gather.” When the team sold during the Great Recession, Werking, then a young mother, launched DW Consulting in late 2009, later transitioning into Prescott’s first social media and digital marketing agency, Northern AZ Social.  November 2010, her client, Tracey Horn, was courting a relationship with the City of Prescott’s Tourism Department. They discussed a need to increase bed tax dollars during the slower winter months. Werking and Horn casually floated the idea of a New Year’s Eve celebration. While the city wasn’t interested in organizing events, nor a part of their marketing plan, the City’s Tourism department expressed full support for organizers bringing new events to the area.  “That little bit of encouragement and a lot of time on my hands was all I needed. I wanted to create something that would fill the event gap and serve our small businesses, but more than that – leave a legacy behind with a new event tradition.” Armed with experience from sports marketing and event planning, Werking began sketching out plans for a New Year’s countdown celebration in her spare time. “I researched what other cities dropped on New Year’s Eve,” she said. “Key West dropped a drag queen in a high heel shoe, Atlanta had a peach, but no one had ever dropped a boot. It just felt right for Prescott—the cowboy boot represents our western heritage.” She modified an old sponsorship proposal from her Sundogs days and shared the proposal to her client, Horn. Met with indifference, Werking continued to work on the concept for months and created the first mockup website in early 2011 to better share her vision. In May 2011, Horn invited Werking to meet with radio executives Patrick Gallagher and Patti Ezel of Magic 99.1 FM. “To my surprise, the meeting was to discuss the New Year’s Eve event I had been working on since November,” Werking said. Shortly after, cofounders Werking and Horn, along with Gallagher and Ezel, formed the first New Year’s Eve Boot Drop committee. With no guarantee of success or profitability, their goal was simple: to bring the first-ever New Year’s Eve celebration to downtown Prescott. Werking continued her efforts over the next six months as a bare bones operation. She collected signatures from Whiskey Row businesses, managed traffic plans, budgeting, sponsorships, signing contracts and negotiating trade deals, ordering promotional giveaways, organizing trash and sanitation, securing the use of the Courthouse Plaza with the Prescott Downtown Partnership, creating infrastructure maps, orchestrated meetings and more, all while pregnant with her first son. Horn secured a non-profit to manage the sponsorship dollars raised under a 501 (c), aided sponsorships, managed marketing obligations and partnered with Morgan Signs to create the design of the boot. Gallagher worked the PR circuit and Ezel helped raise sponsorship dollars and secured the talent. The first-year committee raised roughly $21,000 in sponsorship sales and trades, just enough to cover the costs of the first year New Year’s Eve Boot Drop.  December 31, 2011, Werking remained hands-on throughout the execution while seven months pregnant. “We had no idea how the event would turn out, but we were determined to see it through,” Werking said. “It was a risky endeavor on a shoestring budget.” Werking’s family and friends stepped in to help with infrastructure. Her husband donated equipment for the Prescott Area Young Professionals vendor booth, while community volunteers helped transform downtown Prescott’s Whiskey Row into a festive venue. At midnight, the six-foot illuminated cowboy boot, crafted by Morgan Signs, was lowered from a 40-foot flagpole. More than 2,000 people filled Whiskey Row and counted down to the New Year in the glow of the giant boot. “Seeing the crowd gather that night made it all worth my time,” she said.  Six weeks later, Werking gave birth to her son on Valentine’s Day. She moved behind the scenes to manage the digital presence to focus on her growing family. Donna remained heavily involved with the Boot Drop until 2021, as the event grew from a fledgling community effort into a signature Northern Arizona attraction. Werking invested her own time, skillset and money into the event to assure its continued success.  Despite unexpected challenges through the years—such as a city stage malfunction that forced a quick improvisation using the sound technician Ted Leonard’s box truck as a stage, or the 2018 snowstorm that nearly shut the event down—the Whiskey Row New Year’s Eve Boot Drop stands as a hallmark of Prescott’s holiday season. “Today, I bring friends and family members to the Boot Drop now to enjoy what started as an ambitious dream,” she said. “It’s wonderful to have my kids experience it—my daughter, now 25 and my son, now 13. “My friends and family were behind me on this venture from the beginning, and now we share this experience together as attendees.” Reflecting on its legacy, Werking says she is proud of the efforts of Matt Brassard, event organizer for more than a decade. The event now features live bands, food trucks, carnival rides and two drops capped with fireworks. “It’s incredible to see how the Boot Drop has grown and how much our city embraces it as a signature event,” she said. Through the years, the Boot Drop has had many nonprofit supporters—the Prescott Chamber, Fraternal Order of the Eagles, Prescott Area Independents (PAI), M & M Entertainment, and now Arizona’s Christmas City under Whiskey Row Boot Drop, LLC.  “For everyone who believed in the vision and dedicated their time, our efforts have truly paid off. I hope to see our event around for many more years to come,” Werking said. “It started as a simple idea, but it became something lasting—one that continues to light up Prescott each New Year’s Eve.” Werking shares, “I have archived the original documents, emails and original meeting notes from its inception. In 30 years from now, if the event still lives, I hope to look back on this little part of Prescott history to reminisce upon its origin.” ________________ Photo caption: With the illuminated cowboy boot suspended in the darkness, visionary cofounder of the New Year's Eve Boot Drop, Donna Werking (third from left) enjoys the annual New Year’s Eve tradition with friends and thousands of revelers in downtown Prescott.

  • Vermillion Homes: Building Northern Arizona’s Legacy of Quality and Integrity

Vermillion Homes Video by Donna Werking, Northern AZ Social, LLC Prescott, Arizona - Vermillion Homes, Northern Arizona’s premier custom home builder, is proud to continue setting the standard for excellence, transparency, and craftsmanship in residential construction. Founded and led by Tim Vermillion, a seasoned homebuilding professional with more than three decades of industry experience, the company is leaving a lasting imprint across Yavapai County with homes built to stand the test of time.   Tim and his wife relocated from North Phoenix to Prescott, Arizona, in July 2022, drawn by the area’s natural beauty and tight-knit community. “We instantly fell in love with the Prescott lifestyle,” Tim shared. “We enjoy the outdoors—camping, off-roading, and exploring Northern Arizona’s backcountry. It’s the perfect place for us to call home.”   Tim’s impressive homebuilding career began in the field as a framer in 1985 after ten years joined up with Pulte Homes and Del Webb, where he served from 1995 to 2009 as Director of Product Design. During that time, he helped lead some of the nation’s largest and most respected housing developments. This role gave him extensive experience in every facet of residential design and construction, from architecture and structural engineering to customer satisfaction and project management.   “In my years with Pulte and Del Webb, I learned how to balance design innovation with cost efficiency,” Tim said. “That experience became the foundation for Vermillion Homes — creating custom homes that are as functional as they are beautiful.” Since 2010, Tim has been an active Arizona homebuilder, completing a diverse portfolio of custom homes that showcase thoughtful design, meticulous craftsmanship, and an unwavering dedication to quality.   What truly sets Vermillion Homes apart is its commitment to value engineering and full transparency throughout every project. This approach ensures clients receive the highest quality construction while optimizing design and material costs to deliver the best overall value.   “At Vermillion Homes, we believe in complete transparency,” Tim emphasized. “Homebuilding should be an exciting, collaborative experience. Our clients know exactly where every dollar goes, and we work closely with them to find smart solutions that save money without sacrificing quality or design.”   The company’s team provides hands-on attention at every stage — from lot selection and design to material choice and final walk-through. “Our clients become part of the Vermillion family,” Tim said. “We take great pride in earning their trust and exceeding their expectations.” Now fully rooted in Prescott, Vermillion Homes continues to expand its footprint throughout Northern Arizona, building custom residences that reflect the character and beauty of the region. Each project represents not just a home, but a legacy of craftsmanship and care that will be enjoyed for generations. “We’re very excited to leave our legacy in Yavapai County for years to come,” Tim expressed. “Prescott has welcomed us with open arms, and it’s an honor to build homes that contribute to this incredible community.”   He added, “Our goal is simple — to create homes that blend timeless design, energy efficiency, and enduring value. When our homeowners walk through the door of their finished home, we want them to feel an overwhelming sense of pride and peace of mind.”   As Northern Arizona continues to grow, Vermillion Homes remains committed to supporting the region’s architectural heritage, environmental responsibility, and small-town values. “We’re not just building houses,” Tim said. “We’re building the future of this community — one home at a time.”   For more information about Vermillion Homes or to explore their custom homebuilding services, visit www.vermillionhomes.com

Known for her attention to detail, impeccable presentation, and passion for her craft, Liz has become one of Prescott’s most respected caterers — combining culinary expertise with genuine hospitality.   Liz’s journey to Prescott began in 1992 when she moved from New York to be closer to her parents, who had relocated to Arizona two decades earlier. “I instantly fell in love with Prescott while visiting them,” Liz recalls. “The small-town charm and community spirit captured my heart, and I knew this was where I wanted to be.”   Her love for cooking started early, inspired by her mother and grandmother, both excellent cooks. As a young mom in New York, Liz often found herself catering for neighbors and friends — a talent that would eventually evolve into her lifelong profession.   Though she once planned to attend culinary school, fate had other plans. Liz began working under Chef Patrick Day, who offered her a rare opportunity: “He told me that if I worked side by side with him, I’d learn everything I would in culinary school,” Liz said. That mentorship led her to become his sous chef — a role that deepened her knowledge and appreciation for fine cuisine.   Over the years, Liz has worked in some of Prescott’s most iconic establishments, including The Palace Restaurant when it first reopened as a restaurant in 1996, and later as a sous chef at Zuma’s, a sister establishment. She also managed the deli and kitchen at New Frontiers Natural Grocers for 12 years, where she gained valuable experience in special dietary needs — including gluten-free, vegetarian, vegan, and ADA-friendly meal preparation.   While balancing her early catering business, Liz owned and operated a small café in Chino Valley called The Lunch Box, which became a local favorite for fresh, homemade meals. Her experience at New Frontiers further refined her passion for using healthier and organic ingredients — a cornerstone of her modern cooking style.   “What sets me apart is my attention to detail and presentation,” Liz explains. “Every event is unique, and I take pride in delivering exactly what my clients envision.” Her specialties include elegant cocktail parties featuring high-end hors d’oeuvres, though she also offers full-service catering for weddings, corporate events, and private celebrations of all sizes. Her culinary talents have even reached national audiences. Liz was selected to provide meals for a Food Network show, Restaurant: Impossible with celebrity chef Robert Irvine, while they filmed in Prescott. She has also catered for multiple production companies from Los Angeles working on location in Yavapai County.   Liz’s dedication to community service is as strong as her passion for cooking. She regularly supports Empty Bowls Prescott and donates meals to the Prescott Women’s Shelter, continuing her tradition of giving back through food. “Liz is an absolute joy to work with. Her professionalism, creativity, and food quality are unmatched. Every event she caters feels seamless and special because she genuinely cares about the experience from start to finish.” - Kate Allen, Pronghorn Ranch Events Manager Outside of the kitchen, Liz enjoys Prescott’s outdoor beauty — especially hiking — and treasures every opportunity to visit the beach, her favorite place to unwind. With four grown children, five grandchildren, five brothers, one sister, and a large extended family in both Arizona and New York, Liz’s life is filled with love and connection — values that shine through in every event she caters.   “It makes me happy to serve others with delicious food,” she says. “That’s what Catering by Liz is all about — where tasteful creations begin.”   Liz welcomes calls from event planners and day-of coordinators to ensure every detail is perfectly aligned before an event. She also maintains strong relationships with fellow local caterers whom she respects and is always willing to recommend when appropriate. Learn more about Catering by Liz at www.cateringbyliz.org .

  • Tri-State Metal Roofing Supply Expands into Prescott, Arizona with New Manufacturing Facility Built by JEBCO Construction

Tri-State Metal Roofing Supply, a trusted manufacturer of high-quality American-made metal roofing and siding, has announced its expansion into Prescott, Arizona, with the construction of a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility on Generation Lane. The project is being led by JEBCO Construction Companies, a respected Northern Arizona general contractor, marking the beginning of a strong partnership between two businesses committed to quality, integrity, and community. Founded in May 2016 in St. George, Utah, Tri-State Metal Roofing Supply was established by partners Kortney Leavitt, Jason Norton, and Kalan Lemon. Together, they bring more than five decades of combined expertise to the manufacturing industry, with Norton contributing over 30 years of specialized knowledge and Leavitt and Lemon each contributing a decade of experience.  Since its inception, Tri-State has quickly grown into a regional leader by focusing on customer satisfaction, unmatched turnaround speeds, and high-quality products manufactured in the United States. The company supplies a wide range of metal roofing and siding materials, trims, and accessories — including custom trims designed for unique projects. Its products serve everyone from lumber yards and contractors to homeowners and DIY builders. “Our mission is simple: keep roofs solid and communities strong,” said co-owner Jason Norton. “We believe in hard work, honesty, and real relationships. Whether it’s a ranch, a commercial building, or a family home, we want to help people protect what they’ve built with materials that last.” When deciding where to expand, the partners initially considered other markets but quickly fell in love with Prescott. “The people and the tight-knit community felt like home to us,” said co-owner Kortney Leavitt. “That sense of community is exactly what we want our brand to represent.” The company also sees Prescott as an ideal hub for sustainable building practices. Unlike shingles and tile, which frequently end up in landfills and release toxins into the ground, metal roofing is fully recyclable, energy-efficient, and designed to last. Tri-State’s expansion will not only provide cost-effective solutions to local contractors and homeowners but also support long-term sustainability in the region’s construction industry. For its new Prescott manufacturing facility, Tri-State partnered with JEBCO Construction Companies, led by owner Jeb Johnson. The JEBCO team was selected for its professionalism, expertise, and strong alignment with Tri-State’s values. “There were many capable commercial builders in the Prescott area, but with Jeb and his team, we felt an immediate friendship,” said co-owner Kalan Lemon. “They’ve been professional, reliable, and an absolute pleasure to work with throughout the process.” The project is particularly meaningful to both companies. The site was purchased from the family of a longtime Prescott resident who had planned to develop the property but passed away before its completion. Tri-State and JEBCO worked together to reimagine the space, incorporating innovative roofing profiles, custom trims, and a modern design aesthetic. Among the unique touches is Tri-State’s signature wood grain steel paneling, which replicates the rustic look of barn wood with remarkable authenticity.  “Tri-State’s ability to manufacture top-tier products with virtually no lead times, combined with JEBCO’s commitment to delivering on schedule, makes this project a showcase for quality and reliability,” Johnson said. “We’re honored to play a role in bringing Tri-State’s vision to life here in Prescott.” The new facility, scheduled to open in 2026, is expected to have a significant impact on the local economy by creating jobs, supporting contractors, and providing an easily accessible supply of durable roofing materials. Tri-State’s presence in Prescott will benefit a wide spectrum of customers — from contractors building large-scale projects to homeowners tackling smaller upgrades. “We’re in a growth stage,” said Norton. “As Prescott continues to grow, we want to grow right along with it. Our goal is to expand this facility over time, adding options and creating even more jobs for people in the community.” With its strong focus on sustainability, durability, and customer satisfaction, Tri-State Metal Roofing Supply is poised to become a valuable asset to Prescott and the greater Northern Arizona region. About JEBCO Construction Companies Based in Northern Arizona, JEBCO Construction Companies is a full-service general contractor specializing in commercial, residential, and custom projects. Known for integrity, professionalism, and hands-on leadership, JEBCO is dedicated to delivering projects that reflect the vision of its clients while upholding the highest standards of quality.

A fundraising effort was launched to create a bronze plaque commemorating the location, and the plaque was placed by the City of Prescott in their easement.
